Each component of a building has an impact on the environment and on those who live in and or use that building. Some modern materials however, are made for manufacturer profit and not necessarily for health. (Who knew some countertops and dry wall might be radioactive?!)
We've all got to breathe and good air is essential. Modern building practices use "forced air' systems. (HVAC or Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning) When seasonal changes create big changes in
temperature and humidity, condensation occurs in HVAC ducts. Moisture and dust promote mold. Could your own furnace be exposing you to unhealthy levels of mycotoxins?!
Our world depends on electricity and has for over 160 years. Is there a connection to it and the "modern" diseases of Alzheimers, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and chronic fatigue? You might be surprised.
Edison did a good thing with his invention the light bulb, right? Yes. ...and no. Our circadian rhythms depend on the sun and the seasons, but not just the time the sun sets and rises, but also on the color of the light. The angle of the sun as it passes through our atmosphere creates different frequencies of light in the blend of light we call "white." These subtle differences greatly affect how well we sleep and our energy levels. Could your LED's be increasing your body's inflammation?!
We all love TV and Radio stations. They have defined media for almost a century. But did you know that they, like microwave ovens, cordless phones, and baby monitors can adversely affect sleep, child development, and overall health?
We drive under high tension power lines all the time. No biggie. Right? Hmm...well... But my home is safe...or is it? Could the wiring in the wall behind your bed be causing insomnia? What about the lamp and alarm clock and cell phone? (Certainly not my CPAP right?)
Most beds have metal frames and coils in the mattress and box springs. Wiring errors (even some within code) can create strong health-impacting magnetic fields. What about my home office or work station?
Everyone has those "power bricks" you plug in to power laptops, phones, game consoles, etc. Did you ever take a bath in a mud puddle? No? What if you are bathing in an unseen electromagnetic field that is equivalent to energy dirt in your cells?
